Beautiful countryside

Intake

Intake was originally built in the 17th century. It fell into disrepair in the late 19th century, and ended up being used during WWII as a home for hens and cattle! Our mother saw its potential though, and was so taken by its beautiful location she bought the shell of the building in the early 1990s. It was a labour of love to bring it back to the state it is in today, taking 5 years and being completed in 2000. For the past 25 years it has been her home away from home, but now it is available for others to come and experience its peace and tranquility in luxurious surroundings.Intake sits in the middle of 30 acres of its own farmland, at the end of a farm track. Often the only noise you can hear is the calling of the curlews, a noise our mother loved so much she had a weather vane of a curlew installed on the roof. The property also owns 2 woods, the closest being Century which is adjacent to the house, with its little bothy at the north end of the wood. The rhododendrons are stunning when in bloom, as are the bluebells. People staying at Intake are of course welcome to walk through the surrounding fields and woods, but please to bear in mind the land is farmed and there may well be livestock present, so dogs should be kept under control and on a lead if farm animals are present.
